桜の綺麗な純和風の結婚式 + english review

挙式会場について

とても伝統的な和風で由緒のある神社です。岡崎公園内にあり、神社はお城の真横にあります。春は桜の名所として有名で、咲き誇る桜とお城、そして流れる川と橋を通る名鉄電車などと素敵なシーンを写真に収めることができます。桜の時期の式でしたので、観光客の方々に祝福の声をいただきながら撮影や参進を行え、特別な気分にさせていただけました。前撮りは和舟に乗せていただき、人混みなしの贅沢なお花見をしながら、他ではなかなか撮れない素敵な写真を撮っていただきました。国際結婚でしたので、海外より来ていただいた主人の家族にも大好評。思い出に残る特別な時間を過ごしてもらえました。また、私自身を含め日本の親族も本物の神社での神前式には参加したことがなかったのでとてもいい経験・思い出になりました。

*atmosphere/facilities of the wedding venue
coming from australia, i found this wedding venue an inspiring and tranquil escape in a densely populated urban "small" (half a million) country town of aichi. somewhat akin to central park in nyc i imagine. okazaki castle and tatsuki shrine were at the center of a classic and traditional japanese site with photogenic landscape views, which made it easy for the photographers. photos of the exterior can be found on the web. we timed out ceremony with cherry blossom season, and were fortunate some significant, albeit not quite full bloom, which brightened up the whole park. the park holds a festival during that time of year, and it was busy! i was surprised, as a foreigner (my wife who wrote above, was born local to the area), to find that so many strangers approached us to congratulate us. small town feel, but en-mass. within the interior of the shrine, it is mostly wood, which appears to glow warmly in the right lighting. the atmosphere inside can best be described as casually spiritual. there is a strictness with the sequence of events and their order that is common of shinto weddings, however there is also a cultural aspect injected from the human participants, the priest's procession, their instrumentals, their dance, and even the vivid contrasting colours of their clothing. i personally didn't know whether to smile or maintain a stern and serious poker-face. the friendliness of the staff and shrine's religious members were all very welcoming and accommodating, especially considering how little japanese i spoke (very basic). their efforts actually created that friendly casual atmosphere. i left feeling a little bit more like family. i can imagine some wedding venues treating couples like customers, but here, it definitely didn't feel like it. the ammenities and facilities of their new administration building, which sits just east of the castle, are all new and modern. getting dressed and prepared in that building made life alot easier.

最初の見積りから値上りしたところ

当日のビデオと前撮りは当初は予定しておらず見積もっておりませんでしたが、結果お願いして本当によかったと感じた2点でした。

色打掛は白無垢よりお値段も高いとのことでしたが、前撮りのパッケージ価格でお願いしたので値段を抑えることができたと思います。前撮りを色打掛で挙式当日は白無垢にし、両方とも着てみたかった希望を叶えることができました。

ロケーション（立地、交通アクセス）について

観光地ですので国道1号線沿いのわかりやすい場所にあります。名鉄の最寄り駅岡崎公園前から徒歩10分ほどで着きます。桜の名所なので春の時期は駐車場などとても混雑しますが、電車でのアクセスもいいので便利です。乙川にも面している公園で自然もありとても気持ちのいい場所です。

*location/access to the venue
the actual shrine, the administration building (quite new when we were there), are centrally located in the park. about 5 mins walk across a bridge and up a hill from the west side, or 5 mins from the main gate to the north. car parking, especially during the cherry blossom festival is difficult if not impossible. the tsusuki shrine does have a private car park for staff at the west entrance, they allowed us to use it as a drop off zone which was helpful. the streets surround the park, especially the road along the river to the west was gridlocked throughout most of the days during our 1 week stay. the main road to the north was better, but still busy. good news is, that dressing and prep starts early, before any road closures took place. so we didn't experience much difficulty of the traffic, and we were dressed and prep'd on-site, and a short 30sec walk to the shrine itself.

プランナーのＵ様にはとてもお世話になり本当に感謝しています。海外からの問い合わせで直接打ち合わせにもお伺いできないなか、とても柔軟にご対応いただき実現した式でした。また、式までの日数も数ヶ月と少なかった上に直接お伺いできる滞在時間も少ないところを、上手くカバーしていただきとても助かりました。明るく笑顔の素敵なベテランのプランナー様です。できないことはきちんと伝えてくださるので、私たちも予定が立てやすかったです。代理で申し込みに行ってもらった母も絶賛しておりました。
スタッフのみなさまもにこやかでとても雰囲気がよかったです。美容師様もすごく柔軟に対応していただいて、髪飾りのお花を持参させていただいたりと希望を叶えていただけてとても嬉しかったです。

*service of staff members and wedding planner
the wedding planner was particularly helpful. going above and beyond for most things, ensuring the events went smoothly. the staff too were helpful and accommodating. overall they tried to accommodate some requests from us, when it was possible. my parents were at the last minute, given the unexpected opportunity to join our prephoto shoot, and the venue allowed us to use their carpark to make things more convenient. for the ceremony day, my parents, who don't speak any japanese, were dressed by the venue's staff, and they said it all went smoothly. several days before and after the ceremony, we visited the shrine to finalise the payment, to pick up the photos and video data, to have test hair/makeup done. and each time they were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. i didn't speak much japanese, but hand gestures and facial expressions were good enough to communicate with them.

この式場のおすすめポイント

前撮りの和舟は当初選ぶつもりのなかったコースなのですが、桜の時期は混雑のため前撮りは和舟のみとのことでお願いしました。こちらが思っていたよりもとても良く、家族も少し乗せていただきとても思い出に残りました。和舟に乗れる場所はめずらしいそうで、雰囲気も良く貴重な写真になりました。
挙式当日は、神社の鳥居から参進させていただいたことがとても印象に残っています。雅楽を演奏していただき歩いたときは、なんとも言えない緊張感と嬉しさと、一生忘れない時間だと思います。
また、あまり見る機会もないかなぁと思いつつお願いしたビデオでしたが、エンドロール風のものにして短めなこともあり、ドライブにアップロードして携帯で何度も見返しています。素敵な式の日を思い出し、疲れた時などの支えになっています。

*what you recommend about them
the venue is beautiful, especially during cherry blossom season. the locals are friendly and approachable. the staff, planner and priest were all welcoming to me, despite my lack of japanese language skills. they clearly are an open and accepting community. uchida-san, our planner was very generous and caring. it was actually emotional saying goodbye to her, and we only met her in person for 2 weeks. the video for us, has been priceless. my wife has watched it over 20 times, and it's only been a month since the wedding!

純和風の結婚式をしたい方には特におすすめです。本物の神社で伝統的な中、設備も新しくとても快適でした。私は出身地なので、子どもの頃から毎年お花見や初詣、花火大会に出かけた思い出深い場所です。地元民なら誰もが知っている場所なので結婚式をするのは大変かと思いましたが、素敵なプランナー様のおかげで準備期間も少ない中すべてスムーズに行うことができました。専属の衣装屋さんと美容師さんがいらっしゃるので個人で探す手間もなく、短い一時帰国期間の中ですべて打ち合わせをして前撮りも挙式も行えました。とても頼りになるプランナー様がいるので、安心だと思います。

*advise to people who are considering to have their wedding here
my advice to people considering this venue is to enquire early and thoroughly about choices and options. they do seem to be accommodating, but there is also a strictness that comes with the religious ceremony. obviously, they have specific traditions to do with dress and hair that may be strict, while other things may not be. so best to check first.
for male, non-japanese speakers...you should be aware that as part of the religious ceremony, there is a wedding vows recitation, that is quite long. i learnt it in a week, and had the aid of phonetics and kana to help me on the day. it is possible to do it, and stumbling through with an accent isn't too difficult.
